Since its initiation in 2012, the triennial World Congress of Taiwan Studies (WCTS) has successfully provided a platform for the world’s leading Taiwan Studies scholars to share their research findings, thus effectively facilitating worldwide networks and enhancing the visibility of Taiwan studies.

　　Now, it is our great pleasure to announce that the 3rd World Congress of Taiwan Studies will take place on September 6-8, 2018 at Academia Sinica in Taipei. The Congress is being jointly organized by Academia Sinica and the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, and the main theme for this Congress is “Taiwan in the Globalized World: The Relevance of Taiwan Studies to the Social Sciences and Humanities.”

　　This Congress will consist of two keynote speeches and 23 panels (21 English panels and 2 Chinese panels). In addition, two roundtable sessions will focus on sharing institutional experiences of establishing Taiwan Studies Programs in selected foreign universities beyond Taiwan and exploring future collaborations among the three regional Taiwan studies associations—the European Association of Taiwan Studies (EATS), the North American Taiwan Studies Association (NATSA), and the Japan Association for Taiwan Studies (JATS).
